Full Arch & All-on-4 Dental Implants in Belmont
A full arch fixed implant, sometimes known as an implant bridge, is an alternative restorative solution to removable dentures. If you have a full arch of missing teeth or irreparably broken teeth, we believe a full arch dental implant offers the most functional, comfortable feeling, and natural-looking restorative solution. A full arch fixed implant is designed to replicate the natural shape, contours, and form of your natural teeth.
A full-arch fixed implant is secured by up to six titanium fixtures that have been placed in the jawbone. Created and crafted by our highly skilled laboratory technicians to enhance and suit your oral and facial features and personal requirements, a full arch fixed implant may be cast in either acrylic or zirconia. This type of implant is fixed and may only be removed by an implant dentist.
Full Arch Implant Process
Consultation – When you come into our Belmont practice, we discuss your smile dreams and individual dental needs. We want you to feel confident about the treatment you are considering, so we will provide you with all the necessary information you need and answer all the questions you have to enable you to make an informed decision about your oral health and smile.
Diagnostics – Using our latest CBCT digital x-ray machine, a high-definition 3D X-ray will be taken of your mouth and jaw to assess your bone condition and to plan the placement of the required implant fixtures. Diagnostic X-rays and clinical photographs are also required to assist with the analysis and creation of the right treatment plan for you. High-definition digital scans of your teeth are taken to construct models and to help with the correct placement of the implants, and are used for design purposes of the fixed implant denture.
Implant Placement – Before the surgical placement of dental implants, any unwanted decayed or damaged teeth will be removed. In most cases, this will be followed by the immediate placement of the titanium fixtures, and when necessary, bone and tissue grafting will be carried out. Impressions are taken of the mouth for the design of your new full-arch fixed implant, and in most cases, a temporary denture is fitted over the implant fixtures. This provisional denture is worn for a period of around three months to allow the implant fixtures to integrate with the jawbone.
Final Placement – After the required healing time, the provisional denture is removed, and your custom-designed and created complete arch implant is secured into place. You are now ready to start eating, smiling, and living with your fabulous new implant denture!
Implant Care – With good oral hygiene and regular preventative care examinations, your complete arch implant will last for many years. Our dentists will encourage you to eat a healthy diet and educate you on cleaning techniques so you can always feel confident about caring for your oral health.
Benefits of a Full-Arch Fixed Implant
- Many patients tell us that a full arch fixed implant feels, functions, and looks like natural teeth.
- A full arch fixed implant is designed to restore function for activities like chewing and speaking.
- Unlike removable dentures, a full arch implant feels comfortable and doesn’t move around.
- A full arch implant prevents surrounding teeth from moving and causing opposing bite misalignment problems.
- Implants promote and stimulate bone growth.
- Implants are biocompatible with the body and designed to be a long-term treatment. When cared for properly and regularly reviewed by our dentists, a full arch implant will last for many years to come.
All-on-4® Implant
An All-on-4 Implant is a restorative treatment that teams four titanium implant fixtures with a full arch prosthesis (denture), secured to the ridge of the jaw. As there are fewer implant fixtures required, this treatment is less invasive and a faster option than a full-arch fixed implant.
Most patients are suitable candidates for an all-on-x implant, including pensioners, which has become a preferred alternative to removable dentures. All-on-x is a long-term dental solution that looks, feels, and functions like your natural teeth. An All-On-4 implant is more comfortable and easier to care for than traditional dentures.
